LED display technology has developed for over 30 years. GOB is a mature and well-refined technology that has gained popularity in recent years.
GOB effectively solidifies the structure of LED displays. The transparent adhesive also protects the screens from damage caused by bumps and knocks. This addresses a long-standing industry pain point. LED screens are often installed within people's reach, or exposed to wind, sun and rain outdoors. Continuous operation also leads to excessive heat generation. All these factors, along with light attenuation after long-term use, may compromise the overall quality of the displays.

The picture above compares P1.86 modules with and without GOB treatment.

Modules with GOB treatment are covered by a smooth protective glue layer over the LED beads. The coating may not be obvious visually, yet its smooth surface is clearly noticeable by touch.
By contrast, non-GOB modules expose the LED beads directly, creating a grainy feel. The square-shaped beads are soldered onto the circuit board and tend to wobble easily, which may lead to damage.
Prices for GOB processed modules vary slightly depending on order quantity and module models. The prevailing market rate is 500 per square meter.
Take the 320×160mm module as an example: there are about 20 modules per square meter.
Calculated as 500 ÷ 20 = 25, so each module costs an extra 25. The actual price is subject to adjustment based on order volume and specific models.
